Meet The Pet Care Specialists

Our Fabulous Team

Pet Care Specialist

Melissa is an avid animal lover and thus a natural fit for pet sitting. She was raised in a house with dogs most of her life and she and her husband became fur-parents to their Blue Tick Coonhound, Ernie. She grew an unexplained love for turtles as well and also shares her life with a Red-eared slider, Mr. Turtle and Desert Tortoise, Spike.

She believes animals, no matter the species, provide humans the perspective of a simplistic life style, sharing unconditional love.

She obtained an Environmental Studies degree from the University of Michigan, Dearborn and in addition to working for us, she also works at The Henry Ford-Greenfield Village. In her free time, you’ll catch her enjoying the outdoors, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Trish grew up with pets like most of us and she saw her family treat them just as any other family member.  That instilled a lifelong love and respect.  She feels a life without pets would be an empty one and we couldn’t agree more!

She always knew she wanted to work in the field of animal care and she returned to the workforce after being a stay at home mom and joined the Woof’n Purr team. She has a Veterinary Assistant certificate which reinforced the feedback she always got; she was great with animals. Trish currently shares her life with two Shih-Tzus who she says always bring her great joy.

When she not playing with her dogs and providing them with her lap, she enjoys spending time with her little Grandson, reading and researching topics of interest and shopping.

Tori joined Woof & Purr because she has loved working with animals since she was a child. She and her mother have rescued andfostered many cats and dogs over the years. She currently lives with her boyfriend and two cats, Bobby Flay & Cleo. Her favorite activities outside of working with animals include crafting, gardening, and spending time outdoors; such as camping and riding bikes. She is currently enrolled in nursing school because she enjoys helping people as much as she does animals.Paw prints

Kathy is a life long animal lover, which is the reason she chose to do pet sitting.
As a child she had all kinds of pets of her own, from dogs and cats, to fish and turtles. Her favorite dog breed is the Boston Terrier, and throughout the years she has had four dogs of this kind! She has a daughter who shares her love for animals, and since she was an only child, had many furry “siblings” growing up; dogs, cats, rabbits, and even 10 ferrets.
Kathy has previously worked at a Veterinary Clinic and volunteered at her local animal shelter. She also currently works at a funeral home, providing care and comfort to families. She loves helping people, too.

When she is not working, Kathy enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, going shopping, and spending time cuddled up with her cat Ellie!Paw prints

Hedi has been a pet sitter with the company since 2002 (with a short break) and says she hasn’t met a dog she didn’t like or that didn’t like her! She thinks she must have been a dog in a past life. Hedi has had the privilege of sharing her life with dogs, cats, hamsters, gerbils and a frog named Bubba. She can’t imagine her life without the love of a pet.

She just recently adopted a rescued mutt, named Peanut. Peanut is a senior with an unknown past but Hedi only cares that she can give him a comfortable and happy future, however long it may be.

When she’s not pet sitting, Hedi loves to travel and bake, but she really loves spending time with her family which includes her Grand cat Bear and her Grand dog Buster.

I have been around animals for most of my life. My family and I are huge animal lovers. I currently have four cats, a beagle, and several reptiles. In my free time, I play the flute in my local community band and I love to read, write, and hike.

I have owned and cared for dogs and horses for 20 years plus. I also have also volunteered and fostered for a couple of local dog rescues.  In the past I haved owned and cared for rabbits, cats, gerbils, hamsters and birds. Animals are true passion for me so thats why I picked this job. I currently own two horses named Albert and Lahna. As well as 3 dogs named Mannie, Violet and Charlotte.  When I am not working I obviously love spending time with my animals, being outside, horseback riding and reading.
